Paul van Aubel

Paul van Aubel (1979) was born and raised in Eijsden. He received his first saxophone lessons with the Koninklijke Harmonie Sainte Cécile when he was ten years old. He was then taught by Jos Dobbelstein and later by Roy Hovens. Paul studied at the Conservatory of Maastricht with Adri van Velsen. He also took private lessons with Arno Bornkamp. Paul was a member of the ‘Nationaal Jeugd Harmonie Orkest’ (NJHO) – National Youth Wind Orchestra and the ‘Jeugd Orkest Nederland’(JON) – Netherlands Youth Orchestra. Furthermore he played in orchestras such as ‘the Koninklijke Militaire Kapel’ (KMK) in The Hague, the ‘Fanfare Korps Koninklijke Landmacht’ (FKKL) in Vught, the ‘Radio Symfonie Orkest’ (RSO) in Hilversum and the ‘Limburgs Symfonie Orkest’ (LSO) in Maastricht. Paul also contributed in a number of CD-recordings with the ‘Rundfunk BlasOrchester’ (RBO) in Leipzig. Besides performing Paul is also an enthusiastic saxophone teacher. Within Sainte Cécile Paul is still a playing member, saxophone teacher, conductor of Les Petits Jeunes and conductor of the band “Roed is Droof”.
