The Koninklijke Harmonie Sainte Cécile Eijsden, Netherlands, was founded in 1880 by René, “Count de Geloes” of Castle Eijsden.
In 1952 the association expanded with the addition of a Drum- and Bugle Corps (Trommel- en Klaroenkorps). In 1955 they had the honour of receiving an endorsement from the Dutch Royal family, and thereafter could proudly call themselves “Royal”.

  • Sponsors and Donors

Sainte Cécile may call itself very lucky to have acquired a great number of loyal supporters (donors and sponsors) over the years. Besides private donations there are several companies that annually, either over a number of years or incidentally make funds available to Sainte Cécile whether or not related to a specific activity. New donors are of course always welcome.

  • Honorary (Board) members

Sainte Cécile is very fortunate to have many supporters who in various ways are subservient to Sainte Cécile. The General Assembly appoints honorary board members, honorary members, board members of merit and members of merit.

  • Cultural Centre Eijsden

The “Foundation Cultural Centre Eijsden” was established in 1978 on the initiative of Sainte Cécile. The existing building complex was thoroughly renovated and thanks to the efforts of many volunteers it could be delivered in 1980. The Cultural Centre is the club building of Sainte Cécile but can also be used by others. In 2005 the building underwent another major renovation.

  • Castle Eijsden

Castle Eijsden was built in 1636 by order of Arnold de Lamargelle, lord of Eijsden. Since its foundation (1880) Sainte Cécile has always been closely associated with this beautiful castle. The then lord of the castle, René Count de Geloes, took the initiative of establishing Sainte Cécile.
