Jos Roeden

Previously he studied clarinet with Mr. Jan Cober, bass clarinet with Mr. Wolfgang Raumann and HaFa-conducting with Mr. Pierre Kuypers at the Conservatory of Maastricht. He attended master classes with the Czech bass clarinettist Josef Horak and the renowned German clarinettist Karl Leister from whom he also took private lessons later on.
As a clarinettist / bass clarinettist he successively was a member of ‘Youth Orchestra Netherlands’, the ‘National Youth Orchestra’ and the ‘Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra’. With “Trio Mutano Amsterdam” he played in Holland’s leading concert halls. Beside this he was a substitute in the ‘Limburg Symphonic Orchestra’,’ Holland Symfonia’, the ‘Radio Symphony Orchestra’ and the ‘Viotta Ensemble of the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest’.
As a conductor he led the wind ensemble of ‘Youth Orchestra Netherlands’ and the ‘Orlando Festival Youth Wind Ensemble’. Moreover he is much in demand as coach and private tutor by amateur orchestras in the region.
Since 1997 Mr.Roeden has been a clarinettist and also a (bass)clarinet teacher with Sainte Cécile. In 2008 he was appointed as assistant- conductor.
He therefore assists chief conductor Jan Cober and takes care of rehearsals and concerts in Mr.Cober’s absence.
Besides all musical activities Jos Roeden’s primary job is programmer of Classical Music with Parkstad Limburg Theaters (Theater Heerlen and Theater Kerkrade)
